Rob Gonsalves is a Canadian painter who has created numerous paintings that fall into the magic realism genre. I don’t know how the heck this guy does it! His work is amazing, and we’ve featured it on Mighty Optical Illusions before. I keep ending up back at his paintings, though. I guess I’m just drawn to this guy.
I found a Rob Gonsalves painting this morning that I don’t think has been posted on Mighty Optical illusions before. If it has, well then I apologize for the repeat, but it’s still a pretty awesome illusion painting!
Maybe I’m just drawn to this Rob Gonsalves painting because of the chess theme. I’ve played chess since I was in third grade. I’m not very good at it, but it’s still one of my favorite games. I taught my own kids to play chess at a very young age, and they played with their grandfather before he passed away. Maybe that’s why this particular painting tugs at my heartstrings.
