Do you remember those old shows where the eyes in a creepy painting seem to follow you wherever you go. You know the ones, right? Someone is walking through an old, abandoned house and all of a sudden the eyes move and watch wherever they go. When I was first sent this animated gif eye illusion, it reminded me of one of those movies. Take a look for yourself and share your thoughts as you stare at this!
What did you get out of it when you looked at it? Did it suck you in and leave you in a trance like state? Even though it does hook you into its swirling color and insane illusion, you don’t have to worry about anyone hiding behind a picture waiting to jump out and grab you. Just watching it spin in a circle is enough to make you dizzy if you keep staring at it. Regardless of the color, it is the sheer movement that gets you every time. This eye illusion is one unlike I have ever seen before when searching for illusions.
Do you notice how it seems as if the depth of the eye illusion changes? As it swirls around, it seems to go from deeper to shallower without really having to do much at all. Who would have thought something so simple could be so intriguing? The next time you watch one of those movies, are you going to think about this cool illusion and remember the swirling colors as they follow you around the room? I think the color choice helps to bring the illusion together and make it that much more amazing, but everyone is going to have their own perception of the animated illusion, so you tell me what you think.
I think it looks like a rotating cone with the middle dot being the pit of the cone (like it’s been dipped in the middle) and the third blue ring from the edge is the peak of the cone.
u’right
It looks like a chameleon’s eye.
