If you’re familiar with the classic Rubens vase optical illusion, you’ll probably get this moth or faces optical illusion right away…
My question is, though, which did you see first in this moth or faces optical illusion? The moth or the faces?
I’m actually really curious if different people find it easier to see one or the other first. I also wonder if the colors of the illusions like this make a difference. For instance, in this moth or faces illusion, is it easier to see the moth first because it’s black? What would happen if the colors were reversed, like this?
Now do you think it’s easier to see the faces first? I’d love to hear your opinion on this! Weigh in below and let us know which subject you saw first in this moth or faces illusion in the comments below! Also, did reversing the black and white make it easier to see one or the other?
The Faces first for me – though as much for the ‘thumbs-up’ as the faces. The problem is that the ‘moth’ isn’t really very moth-like. Things might be different if that shape was a more recognisable one.
