Larry the Fox Doesn’t Feel so Clever Anymore

First of all: HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!! I wish you all the best in 2009, and hope your plans develop as you wanted them to (except you are a super-villain or something… ). As for this website, I wish us many new and prosperous optical illusions, and tons of new visitors to our little community. That was my short intro, and now for the illusion. The picture below was created by Johnny Baboon, who entitled it “Larry the Fox doesn’t feel so clever anymore”. I’m sure you get the title, and can find all the hidden animals in it. At first, only Larry the fox is obvious, but you should easily spot some zebras and pandas as well. But wait, there’s more! Concentrate, and you’ll be able to find many more animals present. How many did you spot? How many are there altogether? This illusion was pointed to us by Chey Whi, who also wrote: “Dear Mighty Optical Illusions, my Sister’s boyfriend loves to shop online, and he has bought me two t-shirts. Both are in fact optical illusions. I think these should be categorized as Spot the Object.”

  4. yes, there sure are a lot of animals on there. pretty cool seeing that it goes on a t-shirt.i believe if you search for “larry the fox doesnt feel so clever anymore” on a search engine you should be able to find whomever sells the shirt. the animals are fairly easy to find… i’d be impressed if there were more than the total 11 animals(that i could find) on there.

  5. ok there is a fox, panda, zebra, lemurish thing, dog, bird and penguins……. idk if there are more, if so tell me

  6. wow i can only count 6 animals for sure i can almost make out a giraffe but then again maybe i’m just tired. i’m not counting larry the fox of course

  7. I can see 7 species of animal.

    The obvious fox,
    A sheepdog on the left,
    A zebra behind the fox,
A lemur in the tree to the right of the fox,
A panda to the right of the fox hiding behind a tree,
Four penguins to the right of the panda,
Some sort of bird in the trees above the penguin.

    Thats, 10 animals :)

  8. I see a dog on the left, a zebra above the fox, a panda on the right of the fox, above the panda an owl, on the right of the owl a sparrow and under the sparrow i see penguins :P

  9. cool illusion…but it must make the wearer feel slightly awkward when all these people go up and stare at their chest…

  10. lol- i know what you mean about people looking at ur chest all the time- i use to have a t-shirt that had an awkward phrase on it and found ppl staring at it non-stop and it’s annoying becuz you’ve got the really slow readers that seem to take forever (breathe) nice illusion : ) thnx for the clue on the giraffe- missed that !

  11. Good demonstration for how camouflage works. This is all about contrast between the target and background. If contrast is high (highly salient), then you can see it easily. To find animals, 1)squeeze your eyes, 2) move your eyes, 3) rotate the view (90 or 180 degrees). These will provide an easy spotting.

  12. 1.zebra at the tree at side
    2.penguins near the zebra
3.very small bird near the penguins
    4.dog near the fox
5.not sure what animal this is near at top side of bird

  13. I think I see the number two-like thing at he top of the cat-like thing which is on the branch between zebra and dog
